Academic Credit

The International Honors Program offers a full course load of 16 credits per semester. Classes generally meet five days per week. Methods of evaluation include written and oral examinations, essays and term papers, reports on fieldwork, and assessment of class participation. Prior to departure, IHP students normally petition their universities for permission to receive academic credit for the successful completion of the IHP courses. Traditionally, undergraduate credit is granted. Beginning in 2007/2008 students who successfully complete IHP will receive academic credit and a transcript from the School for International Training, the accredited higher education division of World Learning. Please see Transcripts for more information.

World Learning’s academic programs, offered through the School for International Training (SIT), are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. Inquiries regarding the accreditation status by the New England Association should be directed to the administrative staff of the institution.
