IHP students have come from numerous academic disciplines, including economics, biology, anthropology, environmental studies, public health, engineering, philosophy, art, urban studies, international relations, sociology, history, and religion. There are no specific academic prerequisites for admission. Students must be at least 18 years of age and preferably have completed two or more years of college prior to the start of the program. Most participants are enrolled at a university/college or are recent graduates, but others are welcome to apply. Since IHP began in 1958, the student age range has been from 18 to 59.
The admissions committee strives to select students who will be the best possible match for the program. All applicants should demonstrate maturity and the motivation to participate in an academically challenging program. The International Honors Program does not discriminate on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, race, color, age, religion, national origin, or disability.

If you are unable to download the form from this link, try right-clicking (Control+click, on a Mac) and select "Save Link As" or "Save Target As." Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the closing deadlines. We recommend applying as soon as possible and well before the closing date, as programs may fill early. Those interested in applying for a grant from IHP should submit their application early, as funds are limited. In some cases, there may be space available beyond the closing deadlines; students should contact IHP if they are interested in applying after these dates. When all application materials have been received, they will be sent to the admissions committee for review. Students will be contacted for an informal phone or in-person interview during the admissions process.
Notification of admissions decisions will be communicated within two weeks after IHP receives a complete application and the applicant has been interviewed. Accepted students will receive preparatory information, such as the IHP Program Handbook and a series of bulletins prior to departure. These materials will include guidelines regarding immunizations, visas, packing, readings, etc.
You must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the program ends. If you do not, you should apply for one at once.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the closing deadlines. Programs may fill before the deadlines, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.
